How to Get $15 of Free Stuff from JCPenney

OK, so you may have seen info. on various blogs about the $5 coupon that you can obtain by signing up at JCPenney.com. Well, here’s how you can turn that in to $15 worth of free stuff and get more than $5 back.

Thanks to Little People Wealth for posting the following steps (I’ve added my extra comments in orange):

STEP ONE: Go to JCPenney and scroll to the bottom left of the screen to find the rewards club banner and sign up for the JC Penney Rewards club using the code 3008 (remember to enter the code or they won’t give you the coupon). You do not need to register a credit/debit card to get the rewards. You can continue through that step without entering a card number and go back to it later if you want. You will get a $5 reward - print it out!

STEP TWO: Go to Ebates and use their link into JCPenney (this will give you an additional 4% back). If you’re new to Ebates, they’ll send you $5 just for registering.

STEP THREE: Choose what you want. You will need to pick out at least $15 in merchandise. The outlet section has items 50-80% off!

STEP FOUR: Checkout! Use the "promotion code" REWARD (gives you $10 off $10) and the "Rewards Certificate" is the numbers on the form you printed out for step one (gives you $5 off).

STEP FIVE: Ebates will automatically credit you with an extra 4% of your order :) and you’ll get an extra $5 if you’re a new member. There you have it...$15 in free stuff from JC Penney and at least $5 back from Ebates - have fun!

Thanks Little People Wealth for letting us know about this. I got a tools playset for my boys (originally $29.99, on sale for $9.99) and some PJ pants for myself (originally $30, on sale for $9.99). I got $15 off my order, had to pay $5.95 for s&h for a total of $11.59. I’ll also get around $5.22 back from ebates. If I was a petite, I would have ordered 6 turtlenecks (they’re on sale for $2.99 so I would have paid a total of $8.92 to have them delivered to my doorstep!)

If you take advantage of this deal, let me know what you got. And if you happen to know when the REWARDS coupon code expires, leave a comment.

Provide Feedback – Get New Clothes and Shoes for Free

Apparel companies often give products to adults and children in exchange for valuable feedback which will enable them to improve their products. They want to know – Is their product a comfortable fit? Does it hold up with regular wear and tear? What do you like about it? What don’t you like about it?

Often, this testing is done internally with staff at the company’s headquarters. At other times, they seek testers from the public. If you’re interested in wear testing apparel, including shoes, Nike and New Balance are currently looking for wear testers. Companies often require that you return the items with the evaluation form after the testing period, so if you’re OK with wearing free clothes and footwear for a few weeks or months and returning them and you’re diligent about giving feedback, then this might be for you (now if I could just figure out how to wear test a car without paying for a lease, that’d be cool!). You’ll need to be accurately measured (you can get measured with a Brannock device at your local shoe store) and have a friend take other measurements. You’ll then need to complete an application along with a profile and wait to see if you’re selected.

If you know of other companies currently offer wear tests to the public, please let me know!

Sample Sunday - Your Guide to this Week’s Free Samples

These are the samples you can get for free this week:

Aveda Men’s Pure Performance Shampoo (you’ll get an instant printable coupon that you can take to your nearest Aveda retailer). You can use this link, or if you’re a Men’s Health magazine subscriber, you’ll notice that they have the same offer on page 17 of the March 2009 issue (you mention the ad for your sample)

Maybelline New York Dream Liquid Mousse

Pet Steaktopia Treats

So it’s a bit of slow week on the sample front (although I hope you've taken advantage of all the free magazines this week). But never underestimate the amount of freebies and samples that you can get when you consistently read my blog. I tell people all the time that freebies are readily available with no strings attached and people look at me like I can’t be serious. Well, I am. The below is a photo of the freebies that I’ve received in the past week.

14oz box of Cheerios (if you have a Kroger in your area, call the toll free number on the back of your Kroger card and they’ll send you valuable coupons and freebies. They sent me a coupon for a free box of Cheerios).
Antiseptic Mouth Rinse. Many CVS stores have an in-store card scanner where you scan your card underneath it and it prints out coupons. One of the coupons was for a free 250ml antiseptic mouth rinse.
Purina One Dog Food (this freebie coupon was on the second page of the 2/8 Smartsource flyer in the Sunday paper and since I get two papers each Sunday, I got two free cans). If you didn’t clip it, go dig through your recycling!
Rachael Ray Nutrish Dog Food. I posted about this here. The offer is still valid.
EAS Myoplex Bar. I posted about this here. This offer is still valid.
Del Monte Diced Tomatoes. I posted about this here. Although this offer has ended, they are still giving out valuable coupons here.
Cottonelle Toilet Paper. I never pay for a 4 pack of Cottonelle toilet paper. There was a $1 coupon for this on my blog in the past month (you could print two coupons), then there was another at the Smartsource website and there is often a coupon in the paper for this. The toilet paper retails for 99c at the store, so it’s free after coupon.
Kid Essentials Boost. I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Parents Magazine. I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Spa Magazine. I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Wonder Time Magazine. Good things come to those who wait. This is full of tips for raising healthy, balanced kids. I’ve wanted a subscription for a while and I finally got it for free. I actually didn’t post about this because I got it through an unfamiliar link and wasn’t sure if it was legitimate. I try to only post freebies that appear legitimate. Now I wish I had posted it.
Kirkland Signature Premium Diapers. I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Pamprin. I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Pur Notebook. I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Glad Storage Bag. I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Soyjoy Bar (with coupon). I posted about this here. This offer has ended.
Home Made Simple Coupons. A booklet choc full of coupons. I’m not sure if it’s the same offer, but they are offering coupons here.
Crest Advanced Seal Whitestrips (with $10 coupon). I posted about this here. This offer has ended.

To check out other samples that may be available from previous weeks, visit my Sample Sunday page. When you see a sample you like, ask for it as soon as you read about it before the manufacturer runs out stock.

Contact Manufacturers to Request Organic and Natural Foods Coupons

Last week I made three posts regarding organic and natural foods coupons:

1) A list of manufacturers of organic and natural products that currently have coupons in circulation either on their website or through flyers
2) Manufacturers that offer specials and coupons if you sign up to their online lists
3) Manufacturers that don’t currently have specials or coupons but with links to their sites in the event that you would like to contact them directly to request coupons.

On the last post, I encouraged readers to contact their favorite companies to request coupons.

Many people wonder if contacting a company to request coupons really works. Well, after I put up the last post, I received a comment from Consumer Services Manager, April Riggs at Sweet Leaf Tea Co. April commented “Thank you for adding Sweet Leaf Tea to your coupon search list! We are happy to help consumers experience our products. Send us an email through our website requesting a coupon!” Thanks for your comment April and I’ll move your company to my “available coupons” list next month.

Now head on over to Sweet Leaf Tea Co. and ask for your coupon! Also, if you've asked other companies for coupons and received them, let me know.

2009 Coupon Insert Schedule

Below is the 2009 schedule for the Red Plum, SmartSource and Proctor & Gamble inserts. Why do you need this information? Well, for one thing it lets you know which weeks during the year there are no inserts, so you won’t have to roll out of bed on Sunday morning and rush to the store to get your paper. Or, if you get home delivery, you may be able to call your local paper and have them hold the paper during those weeks and you might save some money and paper waste in the process.

I’ve also included the themes for the SmartSource coupon inserts. Most of the titles don’t really indicate anything, but what I’ve found is that the Back to School inserts usually have an abundance of juice products and such and the Super Bowl inserts lean towards snack foods. Organic Coupons - Where to Get Them - Stage 3

On Sunday I wrote about manufacturers of natural and organic products that currently have coupons available (many are printable). I’ll be updating the list on a monthly basis. To access that list, go here.

On Monday I wrote about natural and organic companies that don’t appear to have coupons in circulation currently, but promise special offers and promos to people who sign up on their website. To access that list, go here.

Today, I’m here to give you a list of organic and natural manufacturers (many of which are in the natural section of your local grocery store) that don’t currently have coupons on their sites or in booklets and don’t promise anything. So why am I giving you this information? Because I encourage you to send e-mails to these companies asking for coupons. Hopefully, if we all send requests, they’ll realize that coupons for their products are in demand and they’ll be more inclined to offer them in the future and they may even send you some. Just yesterday, I had a reader post a comment asking if I’d seen a coupon for a particular product. Before I had a chance to answer, another one of my readers commented that she had requested coupons from that same company and had received them. So go ahead, if you like a product, write to the company, tell them how much you like their product and ask for a coupon in the process.

If this information is helpful or have questions, please leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you!

Body and Soul Magazine for Free

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you know that I get lots of free magazines on a regular basis. With all the free magazines available, I'm starting to get really selective. This is one I will get though - Body and Soul Magazine from Rewards Gold. This magazine, published by Whole Living is filled with healthy, stress reducing and eco-friendly tips. If you want to check out other magazines that I’ve received recently that may still be available, check out my Freebies list.

Free Breakfast at Denny’s on Tuesday

This Tuesday Feb 3, from 6am-2pm, head to Denny’s for free Grand Slam breakfast. If you missed the Superbowl ad that announced this promo, visit Hulu to view the ad.

Rumor has it, according to Fat Wallet, that each customer will also receive a free coupon book that contains eight coupons and that each coupon book has four BOGO's, two 25% off coupons, one coupon good for free dessert, and one coupon good for a free order of pancake puppies. Supposedly Denny's in the US received 1,000 of these coupon books to hand out to guests on Tuesday who order a free Grand Slam and every store also received 500 Grand Slam rain check coupons. Denny's has instructed each manager to hand these rain checks out good for a free Grand Slam to any guest who can't wait. If you're interested in the coupons, be sure to call your local Denny's store beforehand as I haven't had the opportunity to confirm this rumor.
