Free and Low Cost Stuff to do in Atlanta in September

Go to a Concert
Sept 7, 7-8:30 p.m. Concerts by the Springs at the Sandy Springs Heritage Green, 6110 Bluestone Rd., Sandy Springs. 404-851-9111. Free Latin jazz band, Serenata.

Take In Some History
The Anne Frank in the World: 1929-1945 free exhibition takes place from now through January 2009 at the Old Decatur Courthouse on the Square, 101 East Court Sq., Decatur. 404-370-3056. Ages 10 and up.

Get Crafty
The Lakeshore Learning Store at 2757 Cobb Pkwy., Atlanta. 310-537-8600 has free themed arts and crafts every Saturday from 11am-3pm. Sept. 13, “An Apple for My Teacher”; Sept. 20, “Silly Chef’s Hat”; Sept. 27, “Let’s Play Catch”. Ages 3 and up.

Go to the Movies
Check out a free Friday Night Movies at 8pm at East Cobb Park, 3322 Roswell Rd., Marietta. 770-591-3160. Sept. 19 “Charlotte’s Web” (donate diapers and baby wipes), Sept. 26 “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”, 1971 version (donate canned fruit).

Have Some Fun in the Sun!

September 7 - The Yellow River Game Ranch, 4525 Highway 78, Lilburn celebrates Grandparents day. For each paying child, one grandparent is admitted for free. You can also get buy one get one free coupons in your Entertainment book. Usual prices: $8 for 12 and up, $7 for 2-11, one child under 2 admitted free with adult admission.

Activities include educational programming, specialty workshops, touring shows, street performers, family-friendly performances, children’s crafts, life-size chess games, appearances by on-air personalities, local sports mascots, contests, prizes and more!

Go to the Circus
Sept. 19-22. Fri., 7 p.m.; Sat., 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m.; Sun., 1:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m.; Mon., 10:30 a.m. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Boom a Ring Gold Tour at The Arena at Gwinnett Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy., Duluth.
