Free Walt Disney Entry in 2009
Walt Disney announced this week that anyone showing up with a valid ID including proof of birthdate will get a free ticket on that day in 2009 for one of the theme parks at Disney World or at Disneyland in California. Now if there are five in your family and you’re planning to go next year, this deal may not be so hot as one free ticket may not be a large incentive to plan your trip around a birthday. If you’ve got triplets, or if you’re Jon and Kate plus 8 on the other hand…

Many free and low-priced bowling offers only include lane rental, but not shoes. Click here for a coupon to get a 2-hour lane rental, free rental for up to 6 pairs of shoes, and a free pitcher of Coca-Cola at participating Brunswick centers. I'm not usually big on links to online coupons, but I called my local Brunswick to verify that they do take this coupon.

Free Revlon and Covergirl at Publix This Week
For all the Grocery Gamers - this week's list has a huge miss - you can get FREE Revlon beauty tools and free Covergirl eyeshadow. Today, I got one Revlon deluxe nail clipper, one Revlon pedicure clipper, and two Covergirl eye shadows for free! Get a copy of the Publix "Big Savings for the Whole Family" coupon flyer (coupons valid Aug 30-Sept 26). In there, you'll find a $2 off coupon for any Revlon beauty tool and a $2 off coupon for any Covergirl product. Here's how I used them:
Nail clipper price: $2.39 - $2 Publix coupon - $1 Revlon coupon that was recently in the paper = FREE (and made 61c)
Pedicure clipper price: $2.99 - $2 Publix coupon - $1 Revlon coupon = FREE
Covergirl eye shadow price: $2.99 - $2 Publix coupon - $1 Covergirl coupon that was recently in paper = FREE.
Below is what I got today on my grocery shopping trip. Usual retail would have been $104.77. I saved $61.54, so I only paid $43.23. I stocked up on pasta sauce (it never goes to waste), frozen veges and soup (good to have on hand for winter days). I didn't need to buy bread or meat this week as I stocked up from previous weeks. This week we're having chicken curry, potato gnocchi, beef tips with mashed potato and brocolli and burrito bowls (like at Chipotle).

Free College Money with Upromise e-Coupons
If you haven’t already signed up for Upromise to get free money put in to a child’s college fund each time you shop, be sure to sign up for free. You then register your credit cards and store cards on the Upromise site and every time you use your cards for eligible purchases at one of over 40,000 merchants (you probably don’t pass a day without presenting your card to at least one of the merchants on the list - grocery stores, restaurants, fast food, etc.), you'll automatically get a percentage of your spending back into your Upromise account that goes towards college expenses such as tuition, books, an eligible 529 college savings plan, or an eligible student loan. You can check back periodically and see how much you much you’ve made! Even if you don’t have a child yourself, think about how much you can effortlessly contribute to a relative or to a friend’s child. It’s a great way to give free money to someone you love.
They’ve also introduced a program called e-Coupons. (On the Upromise website, click on "earn rewards to see the coupons). This is not to be confused with a printable coupon. This is how it works… Let’s say Upromise has a $1 e-Coupon for Huggies diapers this week on their site (this week they have 20 e-coupons available). You click on the Huggies coupon and any other e-coupons you want and then activate them. You then head to your local Publix, Kroger, Ingles or CVS (who are participating in this program) and when you purchase your Huggies, Upromise will deposit $1 in to your Upromise account. Ofcourse, as an Affluent Pauper, you would want to be sure that those Huggies are on sale and that you’re using manufacturer’s coupons to get the best prices. I wish Upromise had named the program something more appropriate like “e-contributions” or something, because the $1 e-coupon is a contribution to your account, so it won’t affect the final amount on your bill like a manufacturer’s coupon would. Badly named or not… this is free money for the taking!
Free Educational Comics from the Fed
This is interesting… The Federal Reserve has a series of 12 comics that are designed to explain financial and economical topics from consumer credit to inflation. What a great resource for parents and teachers! We need to educate our kids more about finances. Click here to order up to 35 complimentary copies. They won’t even charge you for shipping!
Awesome Style for $8.98 or Less!
The Steve and Barry’s sale at Discover Mills is going on right now. All pieces are $8.98 or less. But if you miss the sale, don’t worry – the usual price is $10.98 or under (yeah, you did read that right…)
If you haven’t yet discovered Steve and Barry’s you have to check this company out. This place has to be giving stores like Old Navy and H&M a run for their money. Steve and Barry’s has 275 stores in 39 states and each store offers shoppers a wide selection of jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, footwear and accessories for the entire family. I was there a couple of days ago and they have an impressive selection of fall items, including sweaters and coats. I came across a pair of baby’s jeans that were the same quality and wash that I would expect to find at babyGap (with a significantly lower price tag) and a sweater and jacket that I could have sworn were swiped off a rack at Banana Republic. During the past two years, Steve & Barry’s has introduced some of the most high-profile and industry-changing product lines in all of retail, namely, collections by Sarah Jessica Parker, Venus Williams and Amanda Bynes. In fact, they sell the V-Court sneaker, a high performance, on-court sneaker that Venus Williams wears during all of her matches. So if you’re shopping for cooler weather, be sure to pay this place a visit!
This Season's Clothing at a Discount!
Thanks to Christel for mentioning this. Here’s one for all those Affluent Paupers who love brand-name clothing bargains…
Are you tired about finding out about on-line sales too late? Well, now you can give Shop It to Me your preferences and have them do the searching for you, sort of like an online personal bargain shopper. For example, say you’re a big fan of Seven jeans and would love a pair in size 8, but you’ll only buy them if you can get a bargain. You enter that information in to Shop It to Me and they’ll shoot you an e-mail when that pair of jeans in your size goes on sale. You can even set your e-mail preferences to receive e-mails daily, weekly or semi-weekly (but you’ll only get an e-mail of course if an item you’ve specified has gone on sale in your size). So next time I see an ultra-cute outfit at babyGap, I’ll put it on Shop It to Me and wait for them to tell me when it goes on sale!
Leading Hotels of the World Sale
We’ve had the opportunity to stay at a couple of Leading Hotels of the World, and let me tell you, they are luxurious! We managed to get our great rates through Priceline, but check out this offer… Leading Hotels of the World is celebrating eight decades of hospitality and are having an 80-minute sale on October 1st where they are offering a limited amount of rooms for merely $19.28 per night!

Know where your coupons are from. I went in to Kroger last week and they now have a binder that contains copies of fraudulent printable coupons. It is always the consumer’s responsibility to ensure that coupons are from a reliable source, so be sure that the coupons you print online are from reliable sources such as the Coupons.com link on my blog, the Bricks list, Smartsource, etc.
You can find these coupons on my blog this week…Airborne, Pillsbury Savonrings Flaky Bites, General Mills Basic 4 Rainsin Bran/Honey Nut Clusters, Bumble Bee Tuna, Minute Rice, Domino Sugar, Cheerios Snack Mix, Bolthouse Farms Dressing, Fruit by the Foot, Air Wick, Downy Wrinkle Releaser, Bonne Bell Products, Soothing Care Tucks or Coolwipes, Sears Portraits, Neutrogena Skin Rejuvinator, Air Wick, Kotex Overnight Pads and Liners, Cheerios Cereal, Yoplait, Hamburger Helper, Kix Cereal, Reeses Puffs Cereal, Gogurt, Fiber One Chewy Bars, Werthers Original Caramel Chocolate Candy, Luzianne Iced Tea, Peets Coffee, Oust Air Sanitizer, Pure and Natural Soaps, Balmex, Dove Clinical Protection Antiperspirant, Lever 2000, OptiFree Solution, Tava Sparking Beverage, Little Swimmers, Energizer Hearing Aid Batteries, Tidy Cats Litter, LiceMD, Pedialax, Unisom Sleeptabs/Gels.
