I just received an e-mail from Starbucks. It turns out that they're offering everyone a free drink on your birthday if you're part of their Rewards card program (a perk that used to be reserved only for Starbucks Gold Rewards members). The way to be part of the Rewards program is to register a current Starbucks card on their site. I registered a $5 card last year in order to take advantage of free wifi when my internet connection went out at home. If you have already registered a card, be sure to go in and update your profile with your date of birth.
Also, for a limited time, you can enjoy any Grande (16 fl oz) cold beverage for only $2 after 2pm at participating U.S. stores. The catch is that you need to bring in the receipt from your morning visit to Starbucks. Hmm... Or you could just become fast friends with your coworker who just arrived toting Starbucks for breakfast and snag their receipt! To top it off, if you choose Iced Coffee and use your registered Starbucks Card, you can get a free refill.
