On February 18, 2009, most TV stations will begin broadcasting digital-only signals.
If you think you need to get rid of that TV your grandma gave you to charge up a sparkly new TV, think twice. If you have satellite or cable service or if your TV has a digital tuner, you don’t need to do anything. But if don’t have a digital tuner and you don’t plan on ordering cable or satellite TV, you can buy a digital-to-analog converter from local stores for as low as $40. But, because you're an Affluent Pauper, I know you'll head over to the NTIA site where you can order up to two $40 coupons per family. Plan in advance, they take 2-4 weeks to arrive.
