Free Starbucks Pastry with Drink Purchase on Mar 23

Yum... Stop by Starbucks this Tuesday, March 23 before 10:30 a.m. and you'll get a free pastry with any beverage purchase with the coupon that you can get here. Kudos to Starbucks by the way for offering gluten free snacks at the drive through. More kudos when they offer a couple of gluten free pastries though! Those of you that know me know that I'm a big fan of Starbucks pumkin loaf, gingerbread loaf and lemon loaf, but I've had to switch to gluten free for health reasons. Maybe I'll try to make the loaves with my gluten free flour...

On that note... I was at Publix today and picked up a box of Betty Crocker gluten free chocolate chip cookie mix. It was right next to a box of Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix and another mix that I don't recall. Of course, I know that I can use my Bob's Red Mill gluten free all purpose flour in many of my regular recipes, but it was nice to know that I could pick up a box for the sake of convenience every so often. The great thing about Betty Crocker gluten free mixes is that coupons for the mixes are readily available. I used one of my 40c coupons, which doubled at Publix to get 80c off the box. The mixes retail for $3.99 at Publix which of course is more than coventional mixes, but it's understandable since the ingredients are also a lot more expensive. Having said that, it's cheaper than other gluten-free cookie and cake mixes on the market. Grab your coupon here.

Free Drink from Starbucks and Other Perks

I just received an e-mail from Starbucks. It turns out that they're offering everyone a free drink on your birthday if you're part of their Rewards card program (a perk that used to be reserved only for Starbucks Gold Rewards members). The way to be part of the Rewards program is to register a current Starbucks card on their site. I registered a $5 card last year in order to take advantage of free wifi when my internet connection went out at home. If you have already registered a card, be sure to go in and update your profile with your date of birth.

Also, for a limited time, you can enjoy any Grande (16 fl oz) cold beverage for only $2 after 2pm at participating U.S. stores. The catch is that you need to bring in the receipt from your morning visit to Starbucks. Hmm... Or you could just become fast friends with your coworker who just arrived toting Starbucks for breakfast and snag their receipt! To top it off, if you choose Iced Coffee and use your registered Starbucks Card, you can get a free refill.

As you probably already know, I'm a big fan of Starbucks ice cream, especially Mocha Frappucino. Well, if you're on Facebook, you can get a free pint of Starbucks ice cream. Free Starbucks Ice Cream

I don't usually post all the grocery freebies that you can get - I generally defer to The Grocery Game and Coupon Mom as the most efficient way to do that, but I just had to post this one. In the paper yesterday, there was a $2 coupon off Starbucks Ice Cream. Usually retailing at $3.60 a tub, its buy one get one free this week at Publix, so it pans out to $1.80. I had two coupons, so Starbucks essentially paid me to buy their ice cream. And the ice cream is soooo good! I bought the Mocha Frappucino ice cream and it's amazingly good. I don't drink coffee, but for some reason I like it in my ice cream and chocolate. So the next time I'm exhausted and my kids won't nap, I'll run over to my secret Starbucks stash in the freezer for a pick me up! Yey for free Starbucks!

The Benefit of Starbucks Gold for Small Business Owners

OK, I’m almost hesitant to write about this. In my attempt to live large on little, I rarely go to Starbucks anymore, opting to make my own Starbucks treats at home. However, I can see how this could benefit entrepreneurs who work from home and rely on Starbucks for client meetings and to utilize Wi-Fi when they simply aren’t able to work at home. Yes, there are a lot of places that offer free Wi-Fi but Starbucks is pretty comfortable and is often a preferred place to network with other small business owners. So here’s the deal… For an annual membership of $25, you can purchase a Starbucks Gold Card which entitles you to:

- 10% off most purchases in participating U.S. Starbucks stores
- A free drink when you purchase your membership in-store
Then when you register, you get:
- Free Wi-Fi access for up to 2 hours each day in participating Starbucks stores
-A free beverage on your birthday
- Exclusive offers and discounts throughout the year

Starbucks is in the process of transitioning from being a TMobile Hotspot to AT&T. If you only have occasional use for Starbucks Wi-Fi, you could always simply purchase a $5 gift card, make a purchase, register your card and you’ll then be entitled to use their hotspot each day for up to two hours for 30 days from the purchase of the card. If you already have AT&T for your internet service, you’ll already have free access to Wi-Fi at Starbucks and other nationwide hotspots.

On another note, if you’re buying a beverage from 11/27/08 to 1/2/09, make it a Red Exclusive Beverage (Peppermint Twist Mocha, Espresso Truffle or Gingersnap Latte). For every Starbucks Red Exclusive beverage purchased, Starbucks will contribute five cents to the Global Fund to invest in AIDS programs in Africa.

Free Starbucks Gift Card

This is an interesting one. You fill out a short survey at Clayton Kendall’s website (they sell promotional materials that you can imprint with your company’s logo) in exchange for a $5 Starbucks gift card. It almost seems too good to be true, but since the survey is so short, I figured I’d do it and see what happens. It does require your phone number though, so I’m going to assume that a sales rep is going to call.

Free Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Ben & Jerrys on Nov 4

On Tuesday Nov 4, tell your participating Starbucks barista that you voted to receive a free tall brewed coffee. This free offer is so new that many Starbucks stores aren’t even aware of this promo yet. I had to track down a couple of managers to confirm the story.

Krispy Kreme stores will be offering a free star-shaped doughnut to each customer wearing an "I Voted" sticker. Select stores may offer the standard circle shape. Call your local Krispy Kreme to find out if they’re participating.

Ben and Jerry’s will be offering free ice cream from 8-5pm. I posted about this here.

Free Starbucks for Teachers

Let your teachers know!

At participating Starbucks, teachers can stop by each Monday now through September 29 and receive a tall cup of Pike Place Roast Coffee, courtesy of Starbucks. Just present a valid K-12 teaching credential and your coffee is free!

Free Chick-Fil-A, free flowers, free coffee

Some of the items I mentioned in previous posts are happening this week. Be sure to check out free Chick-N-Strips at Chick-Fil-A on September 1st, get some free flowers from your local florist on September 3rd.

Remember that the $2 afternoon Grande drinks deal at Starbucks ends on September 2nd and the remember to register your Caribou Coffee card before September 7th to get a $4 credit.

Starbucks - $2 Afternoon Grande Drinks

OK, you guys know that I try to do all my posts only once or twice a week so I don’t fill up your in-box with mail, but this couldn’t wait…

For those caffeine addicts out there, here’s the deal…

Make a purchase at Starbucks any day before 2 p.m. from August 5-September 2 and take your receipt back the same day after 2 p.m. to any participating Starbucks (not applicable at Barnes and Noble Café) to get one Grande (16 fl oz) iced drink for only $2 plus tax, if applicable (those of you who drink Starbucks know what a good deal this is). Limit one drink per receipt.

I’m actually hoping that you’re not spending your hard-earned cash at Starbucks twice a day, but if I had a good friend or coworker who drank Starbucks every morning, I wouldn’t be afraid to hit them up every so often for their morning receipt, so I could enjoy a nice $2 treat. Or, if you happen to do Starbucks in the morning, offer someone else your receipt for their afternoon trip and share the love!

Free Vivanno Beverage at Starbucks

More free drinks from Starbucks! Use your registered Starbucks card on July 25 and 26 to receive a free Vivanno beverage. The new Vivanno beverage has one whole banana, whey protein, fiber powder, ice and milk with no artificial calories or sweeteners. Vivanno comes in Banana Chocolate and Orange Mango Banana. Yum!

Check your Sunday paper carefully. In the AJC, there's a light blue flyer with a card that you can take to Starbucks every day through July 14 for a free 12oz cup of brewed coffee, hot or iced. Good in Atlanta and Indiana. Not valid at Barnes and Noble Cafe.

Another Free Drink from Starbucks

Want another free beverage? If you’re planning on spending cash at Starbucks, rather than using cash, get a gift card (you can get one as low as $5) and charge your beverage to it. Then visit the Starbucks website before July 14 to register your gift card and within 10 days, Starbucks will mail you a coupon for a free beverage. (I tested this by registering some random card I had lying around that had zero balance on it and it worked).
Update (July 1st) - I received my free coupon in the mail and used it to buy a Venti Chai. My husband used his "free coffee" card that was in the Atlanta Journal Consistution on 6/29, so we both got our drinks for free. Talk about a cheap date! To top that, they took the code off my free coupon and handed it back to me, so I guess we can do this all over again! Lovin' Starbucks right now! I guess with 600 stores closing across the country, they're trying to get us addicted again! The only thing is that with all the free drinks they're handing out, it's becoming inconceivable to me that I'd want to pay ever again!
