Upcoming Free Kids Workshops at Lowes and Home Depot

What's going on at upcoming Lowes Build and Grow clinics? On Sat Aug 8th you can take the kids to make a wooden powerboat and on Sat Aug 22nd, they can make a school bus. As usual, all supplies included and they'll love to take home their free apron and goggles. All classes are from 10-11am. Over at Home Depot, they can make a message center on Sat Aug 1st (it looks really cool - cork on one side and a corkboard on the other!) and on Sat Sept 5th, they can make a bean bag toss. Classes are from 9am-noon. There's nothing quite like free family fun! For my son, these free outings never get old!
Be sure to check my freebie calendar regularly for free events. Last week, we went to see a free movie at a local movie theatre, and we have received several DVD rentals for free from Redbox using the free weekly codes. You can get free movies, coffee and more. And don't forget to mark your calendar to go online every Friday to get your coupons for free chocolate bars!

Lowes Coupons in Sunday Paper

Did you see the Lowes coupons in today's paper? There's a $10 off any $50 purchase and a $25 off any $250 purchase, valid from now until 5/10/09. Great coupons to have on hand for those spring home improvement projects!

If you haven’t already signed up for mail from Lowes, I recommend that you do. Lowes occasionally sends me coupons for $10 off any purchase of $25 or more. On the main Lowes site, it appears that there isn’t a place to sign up to get on the mailing list. I called Lowes corporate offices and they recommend that you go to their Lowes Moving site. On the site, you can request a 10% off coupon and it will add you to a mailing list which will enable you to get these valuable coupons in the future.

Free Fun with Kids at Home Depot and Lowes

I previously posted about the free Lowes Build and Grow Clinic, where you can build a jewelry box on February 14 with your kids (the workshops are typically for children from 5-12 years old). If a jewelry box doesn’t appeal to you, perhaps you’ll want to build a race car! You can build your race car from 10-11am at Lowes on February 28. Sign up here. Or perhaps you’d like to make a raceway? Well, you can! Go here for more info. on the event at Home Depot on March 7, 2009. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Free Fun with Kids at Home Depot and Lowes

Head to Home Depot for fun activities with your kids. The Home Depot Kids Workshops teach children from ages 5-12 do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Overall, a great time! In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin. On January 3rd from 9am-12pm, you can make helmet-themed bookends and on January 7th, you can make a trinket box. Find out more on the Home Depot site.

Over at Lowes, on January 10 from 10-11am, you can make a time capsule and on February 14, you can make a jewelry box. To sign up at your local store, go to the Lowes Build and Grow site.

Lowes Commercial Appreciation Oct 22-24

I just got a flyer in the mail about this. Lowes is having Commercial Appreciation Days on Oct 22-24. On the Wednesday and Thursday, they’ll give out free coffee and donuts from approx 7am-10am. On Friday, they’ll give out free lunch from 11-2. On Friday, there will be several vendors on site and my local Lowes manager tells me that there are some pretty sweet door prizes, hats and t-shirts. He says that while this is primarily for customers who use Lowes for commercial purposes, any Lowes shopper can take advantage of this event. If you haven’t already signed up for mail from Lowes, I recommend that you do. Lowes frequently sends me coupons for $10 off any purchase of $25 or more. On the Lowes site, it appears that there isn’t a place to sign up to get on the mailing list. I called Lowes corporate offices and they recommend that you go to their Lowes Moving site.
